Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2, 2026

By accessing or using LuraPDF (lurapdf.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. LuraPDF is a free, browser-based PDF toolkit operated by Metal Devs. No registration is required. Your files are never uploaded to any server. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the service.

1. Acceptable Use

You may use LuraPDF for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. The service is provided free of charge and 'as is', without warranty of any kind. You are responsible for ensuring your use of LuraPDF complies with all laws applicable to you in your jurisdiction.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use LuraPDF. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using LuraPDF, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use LuraPDF to: (a) process files containing child sexual abuse material or any other illegal content; (b) infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any party; (c) circumvent password protection or digital rights management on documents you do not own or have permission to modify; (d) violate any applicable law, regulation, or court order; (e) attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or otherwise extract the source code of LuraPDF beyond what is permitted by applicable law; (f) interfere with the operation of the service, including via denial-of-service attacks, automated bulk requests, or malicious scripts; (g) misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us. We reserve the right to block access from any user or network found to engage in prohibited activity.

4. Intellectual Property

The LuraPDF name, logo, branding, and the unique combination of code and design that comprise the LuraPDF web application are the property of Metal Devs and its contributors. The underlying open-source libraries (pdf-lib, PDF.js, Tesseract.js, Fabric.js, and others) are licensed under their respective open-source licenses, which apply independently. You retain all rights to files you process with LuraPDF — we claim no ownership over your content. You may not redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit the LuraPDF web application without prior written permission.

5. Your Files

All file processing occurs entirely in your browser. LuraPDF has no access to, and does not receive, your files. You are solely responsible for the files you process and for maintaining backups of any important documents. LuraPDF accepts no liability for any loss of data, corruption, or unintended output resulting from the use of these tools. We strongly recommend keeping a copy of any file before processing it through any LuraPDF tool.

6. Third-Party Services & Links

LuraPDF uses third-party services for analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense). These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we do not control how they collect or use data. LuraPDF may also contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the content, terms, or practices of any third-party site. Following an external link is at your own risk. See our Privacy Policy for full disclosure of third-party processors.

7. Copyright & DMCA Notices

LuraPDF respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content associated with LuraPDF infringes your copyright, send a written notice to [email protected] containing: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (c) identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information sufficient to locate it; (d) your contact information; (e) a statement made in good faith that the use is not authorized; and (f) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder. We will respond to valid notices in accordance with applicable law.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

LuraPDF is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without any express or implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of results. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or produce results of any particular quality. Use of PDF conversion tools may involve loss of formatting, fonts, or layout — this is an inherent limitation of browser-based processing of complex document formats. You use the service at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LuraPDF, Metal Devs, and their respective contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, files, documents, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because LuraPDF is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you under any theory shall not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD 100).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Metal Devs, LuraPDF, and their respective officers, contributors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party; or (d) any content you process through the service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to LuraPDF, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice, including for violation of these Terms or where required by law. Because LuraPDF requires no account and stores no user data, termination simply means the service or specific tools may become unavailable to you. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 4 (Intellectual Property), 8 (Disclaimer), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), and 13 (Governing Law) — shall survive.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Metal Devs is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of LuraPDF shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that jurisdiction, except where applicable law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence as a consumer.

13. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, and the invalid provision shall be modified only to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Editorial Standards, and Corrections policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LuraPDF regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised 'Last updated' date. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the homepage where reasonably practicable. Your continued use of LuraPDF after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
